Jim Schaad is President and Winemaker of August Cellars, a family owned winery based in Newburg, Oregon, and owner of Soaring Hawk Computers. A retired software engineer for Microsoft Corporation where he worked from 1987 to 2001, he has an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Washington, as well as B.A. degrees in Chemistry from Willamette University and in Metallurgy & Material Science from the Mudd School of Mines at Columbia University.
